Traffic Ticket Not Showing Up In Police Records?

I called the phone number for the traffic citation I received 15 days ago, and I was informed that there was no record of the citation. What should I do about this?

When you got the ticket, was there a due date or court date that it had to be paid by? If it were me, I'd wait until a few days before that date, call again, and see what they say.
I know the laws vary from place to place, but here if you don't pay the ticket or show up in court on the day scheduled, they suspend your drivers license, and issue a warrant for your arrest. Then when you're stopped again, they arrest you & tow your car. That's a bad way to find out they really did have the ticket.
In the end, it's your decision, just be careful. |

it takes a while sometimes to show up.....i say don't ask don't tell....something will show up in your mailbox if you are charged....show up for the court date on the ticket and see if your name is on the docket |

It can take up to 30 days to show up in their records, however DO NOT just ignore it because it doesn't show up, make sure you go to court on or before the date on the citation, otherwise the fine will increase TREMENDOUSLY!! good luck! |
