Okay so I got caught making an illegal U-turn over a double yellow line. A cop just happened to see it, pulled me over, and gave me a summons.
Tomorrow's the court date. What do I plea, and why?
I want my insurance to stay as little as possible, and I'm willing to pay extra so that my insurance doesn't go higher, but in the past, even when I did pay extra to have 2 points taken away, I still got hit with higher insurance. Why is this? And what do I plea tomorrow? I'm in the state of NJ btw. Someone please enlighten me on this. Thanks mucho!

I don't know if this is a stupid question. But is there any reason I should plead not guilty, or no contest?

You can't 'pay more' to not have your insurance raise. The Judge has nothing to do with it, either. Either he will find you guilty or not guilty, and then your ticket will be turned in and it will go on your driving record. When your insurance company finds out, they usually raise your insurance. Also, the points can not be reduced or erased. It all comes with the territory. |
