True?putting your pin in backwards when being robbedat an atm will give money but also call the police?

Hi, we are an ATM service company and have seen this comment come up many times.. This idea is clever and was offered as a possible solution to crime at ATM locations. However there are several things that has prevented the implementation of this idea: 1. Current ATMs are not programmed to dial to local police stations at all. The ATMs function in a sense as a computer and modem. This functionality would require significant upgrades to all ATMs and police stations that would want this communication link. 2. The implementation would need to occur on a massive scale. There are over 800,000 ATMs in the USA and nearly all ATMs would need to upgraded to provide a reasonable confidence for any user at anytime to know that an emergency code that was entered would actually work. It would be terrible if a crime victim was thinking that they were alerting police and if the ATM wasn't upgraded, then nothing would occur. 3. People have expressed concern that under the duress of armed robbery, the behavior of a crime victim is not reliable. If the robber suspected that a victim was alerting police, and the victim was fumbling the reverse code, then it could be worse for the victim.

there is a bank on every corner in my city..do you think it is going to alert the police EVERY time someone was to do that.. get real.. If I got arrested everytime I entered my pin wrong.. I would be in jail. Why give you a personal pin if it's going to give u $ anyway.. DUH!!! what if ur number is 1111, or 2222...where do u people get this info..

False. Sorry, you have no protection built in from the banks, they won't even spend the money for decent cameras to see who beat you senseless and took your money.

I do not know how the machine would know if you were being robbed or just miss typed your pin. I don't think it's true.

No, the PIN backwards will simply indicate an incorrect PIN. The machine won't dispense money if the PIN isn't entered correctly! Of course, who will want to try it and risk calling the police?

Take and see and say toy game from Mattel...open it up and attach the see and say wire t your magnetic strip with a 1 gauge wire and insert it in the atm and then speak into the se and say speaker and say "reject and Cloe", the account will disburse money to you up to the limit for the day. The speak and say toy searches the the first account number that has been rejected and reinstalled and then it appears on screen with a pin and you punch it in.
