VOSA and THE LAW

Hi on thusday lunch time i was pulled by the police on the A40 coming out of uxbridge where i was told to follow them Iam a HGV driver i follow them to Denham where vosa were testing all types of vehicles on testing my vehicle they found a flat spot on my tyre the size of a 10 pence piece outer rear i was given a prohabition order for the defect tyre on calling my boss and telling him the news he ask if vosa wanted a van to come out and replace the tyre? the vosa inspector said no it would be ok to run back to my depot over 50 miles away but the tyre would have to be replaced by sunday 3 days from the offence. So my beef is why did the police give me 3 points and a £60 fine ? but vosa let me run home with the defect tyre???????? advice needed. Alan
