I work at a restaurant and we have cameras. Our supervisor watches them all the time like its reality tv, when he's watching them he will call and complain about someone doing something, for example if someone isn't keeping themselves busy enough he will call. He will also take still pictures of us standing and e mail them to the GM. What I'm asking is it illegal for him to constantly watch us or is there some kind of law where he could only watch them if something happened or if money was stolen??

It is legal so long as the cameras are not placed where you might expect privacy like a bathroom or dressing room.

Its legal to videotape but its illegal if its recording sound. What he's doing is probably legal but he does seem like an a$$hole.
