MY HUSBAND GOT 3YRS STATE 3YRS FED CONCURRENT,HE IS IN STATE JAIL HAS BEEN FOR 2 YRS NOW .WHAT DOES IT MEAN THIS WAY

Hello Jamie. A concurrent sentence means that the person ( hubby) was given two separate sentences. In this case, one was a state offense ( which he is serving now). The detainer is in place so that when the state charge is done, he is going to be remanded to the Feds for the additional charge of three years ( which would be a Federal charge).

Basically, this means he will serve a total of 6 years before he is released.

A detainer means that the person is usually a wanted person. It could be something that came up, during his incarceration. He can check with the records office where he is incarcerated, and they should be able to let him know, what and where the detainer is from.
