I HAD DIFFERENT ANSWERS ON THIS QUESTIONS CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT WITH THIS QUESTION PLEASE.
WHAT WOULD AN OFFICER DO IF HIS PARTNER WAS TAKEN HOSTAGE BY 4 GUYS. WOULD HE WAIT UNTIL BACK UP COMES BEFORE TRYING TO SAVE HIS PARTNER'S LIFE OR WOULD HE JUST GO IN AND TRY TO SAFE HIM? ONE OF MY FRIEND TOLD ME THAT TIME IS PRECIOUS AND YOU CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR BACK UP COMES CAUSE IT CAN TAKE A WHILE AND MY OTHER FRIEND TOLD ME JUST WAIT FOR BACK UP BECAUSE YOU DON'T WANT TO PUT YOURSELF IN THAT KIND OF DANGER EVIRONMENT ESPECIALLY BY YOURSELF WITH NO BACK UP, BUT THEN AGAIN I FEEL THAT HIS PARTNER HAVE TO BE DOING SOMETHING AND NOT JUST WAIT THERE UNTIL HIS BACK UP COMES? WHAT YOU GUYS THINK?

well, if four guys kidnapped my partner, i would wait outside till he bored them to death and he would walk out freely.
seriously though, im not letting anyone take me or my partner hostage. if four guys took him hostage, that means im dead on the ground with several other bad guys, also dead, because i dont go down without a fight. |

That's a judgemet call. It's up to the officer on how they personally respond, but dispatch would instruct and advise them to wait until other patrolmen were there to assist. |
