Warrant out for missing court over a debt owed, AFTER filing bankruptcy

I filed bankruptcy about 3 weeks ago to relieve this debt I have been going to court over for a year now. The judge told me at my last hearing that if I had bankruptcy filed before my next hearing I wouldnt have to show up, and I did have it filed a couple weeks before. Now they put out a warrant for me missing court. The cop told my sister I need to pay $400 to avoid being arrested. Can my bankruptcy lawyer take care of this matter or should I pay the $400? I dont know what to do.

we dont have a debters prison in this country someone is filling full od malarky unless its child support which you cant dicharge in court if the authoritys are telling you to pay and your attorney has not interviened then if it were me I would go ahead and pay the four maker sure to get a bonified receipt stamped or notorized it better to pay and be free then in the slammer and it will cost you alot more to get out. |
