Find answers to your legal question.

Was Cop out of line or me....what do you think?

I was doing 58 in a 50. I get pulled over by an officer, because I was breaking the law.

I was guilty..no question!! NO problem either!!

So we walks over to my car with a tooth pick in his mouth wearing his sunglasses.

He asked me why OH why were you speeding on MY road?

I said good day officer, yes I was speeding, I am guilty of this offence..NO question about it I said.

but...........

this is not your road...he say's WHAT!!! I said yes, it's not YOUR road, the road belongs to me and everyone who workds in the private sector...those who pay 100% of everything, so you see this road is mine, not yours. YOU my dear officer are an employee of mine, your car is owned by me and the private sector...as per LAW! Please allow me to educate you furthur. We who work for non-governemnt (tax-payer funded) jobs pull the ENTIRE wagon known as my government, you are a part of the 22.8% of the ones riding in the wagon I am pulling.

Needless to say to was angery at me..

AT NO was I disrespectful, only stating FACTS and the law of our land. He was from the time he approached me, rude, arrougant. He gave me the ticket an a ear full of crap the entire time.

BTW, I was raised in a police officers home my whole life, I know it ALL!!

I'm not surprised the policeman was rude. They are all rude. Two times my boyfriend has been harrassed by the police for nothing. One policeman arrested him for tripping and falling when he got out of the car. He was sick but the policeman accused him of being drunk. I'm at the point that I'm afraid of the police for just this type of thing. It is a gross abuse of authority.

You were stating the fact, but you were also being insolent on purpose. And, you turned what he said into it being literal. You should have let it go. You were benig a smart a**

Both of you were wrong. By the way, the road also belongs to that officer so he was right in saying it was his too. Do you think that Police Officers do not pay taxes, City State, and Federal?

canyon
If you know it all, then why run around shooting your mouth off? You weren't educating him, you were talking down to him. If he knows all that, and you know all that, then duh.

Somethings are better left unsaid. My sons are both police officers, but I NEVER would have reacted like that if I'd been pulled over for speeding. You say you know it all but I disagree because you didn't know enough to hold your tongue.

Sounds like one of you needed to do their job and not worry about who the road belongs to and the other one should have exercised their right to remain silent.
You both acted unprofessional and you both should be ashamed.
Albeit, I give you credit for being honest about the infraction but you should have left it at that.

Godspeed

For someone claiming to know it all, your not that smart, in FACT your really stupid.

Although what you said my be the truth and funny, arguements and debate are better left off the road and done in court if need be. If you felt that the officer was being rude or unprofessional then take his badge number and complain. Trust me those complaints can pile up on an officer and affect their advancement with in the department.

Personally I think the officer came off alittle rude.

You may be stating the facts, but this was a very stupid thing to do, and I think in retrospect you know it too.The policeman was partially at fault too, for claiming that the road was his.

The road belongs to everyone...Travelers, owners, OFFICERS THAT WORK THE STREETS!!!
Everyone with a income pays Federals Taxes which helps the states with Extra help!!!

Plus...If you were raised around officers...You should know that you should just shut-up...

But

The officer was a ***...He was probably a officer for a long time and they tend to LOOSEN UP after the years!!!

I would of been kinda mean as well...Just not THAT mean!!!...LOL

You have Guts my friend!!!

Chuck-the-Duck
I thought you knew!!, I mean after all you've been raised around police all your life. YOU! Caused HIM! to miss His BREAK!! at
DUNKIN-DOE-NUTS.!! You should be ashamed, and driving on his road at that.!!!????

I am one of the people on your "wagon". Strangely though I also pay taxes, here in Canada it is about 45% of my gross wages. So I am pulling my own wagon as well.

This particular officer sounded arrogant, but then so did you.
If you would have plastered a fake look of remorse on your face you might have gotten away with a warning.

What does wearing sunglasses have anything to do about it?
UVA/UVB rays are dangerous, and we spend most of our time outside. The toothpick thing is gross, but maybe he had just quit smoking, I would explain the stupid, "my road" comment.

Kevin C
Cops pay taxes too there Sparky....so it IS his road!

Kinda ironic that your ticket fees help pay his salary...so your employee just in essence told you he was sick of your crap.

BJ
You were a smarta**, disrespectful, totally out of line. You were showing a gross ignorance of what the officer was saying (My road - as in "this is the road I patrol").

I'm sure your "police officer" family is just proud as punch of you......

W W D
Yes, you do know it all, and at least one part of your anatomy is very smart, which could explain some things. Why go out of your way to antagonize the guy?

You failed the attitude test there Sparky.

Oh, and since you were raised by cops and know it all, perhaps you could explain why your were speeding in the first place. He wasn't angry with you. Cops like dweebs with big mouths. You're amusing.

Although you could have just acknowledged your wrong and accepted the ticket, while you were right, your approach wasn't what the badge monkey wanted to hear. I have the utmost respect for officers who not only uphold the law and follow it themselves. Unfortunately, when society pis a badge on someone with a bad attitude then we all apy be being subjected to badge-monkey mentality.Perhaps you can file an anonymous complaint with the ethics committe of your local police force

That can change at a moment's notice. "Owning" anything is all perception.

Elvis lives!
You're funny....but that didn't make it right for you to speed. Keep up the good work, next time they may take you away.

The police are always right in America.

I look at the speeding ticket. If he did not reduce the speed and it is actually 58 in a 50 - That was a waste of time for a stop to begin with. Unless that particular road has many bad accidents or fatal that was a ridiculous stop. We all know everyone speeds it is a matter of professionalism that we allow low speeders to go by and wait for the dangerous ones. As far as comments go on both sides - an unprofessional police officer and an unprofessional gentleman tax payer.
