OK, i cant believe what the hell just happened so i'm gonna tell you.
So one of my friends pops round to show me a new rabbit that she's just bought(she had it in a box), i say let it go for a run in the garden-so we do.
5 minutes later the rabbits gone missing so we look for it and find its stuck under an un-used shed at the back of my garden.Anyway i go back in to my house to think of how to get the rabbit out but next thing i know the fire brigade turn up and to my horror my friend had called the fire brigade to help get the rabbit out!they were here for two hours!! they saved the rabbit in the end but i think it was a bit excessive to call them in the first place-well embarrising as well

No. it was a waste of valuable time and resources.
I too, was pleased to see a non-BNP question from Swindon's finest young nationalist, until I saw that even in his pictures you get the BNP nonsense, with a rather unpleasant piece of support for racist terrorist group the BNLA.

Well if there's one thing good that came from it is that our very own Mr Rule Brittania actually posted wait for it......a NON BNP related question!! weeeheeey. Miracles do happen. At this moment I feel like personally serenading all and sundrey with a rendition of Land of Hope and Glory...
yes maybe it was a wast of valuable fire brigade time but at least we have this as a consolation. |

I'm sure they wouldn't come out if there was anything more important to attend to. Mind you, I was speaking to one a while ago and he said that they get called out perhaps five hundred times a year - more than once a day on average - so I hope this didn't stop them from doing something more urgent.
Does your friend always call the fire brigade or something? I can't believe that she'd just do that immediately. That's the last thing to pop into my mind. |

Well I've heard people calling the fire brigade over cats stuck up trees. I personally think its wrong, people could be stuck in fires because the fire brigade were busy over a rabbit. Dont get me wrong, I love rabbits, I have 2 but surely someone else and not the fire brigade could dig it out. I'm surprised the guys actually responded to that! But I am glad your bunny is safe! |

No, she was not right to call them and she should be charged with wasting their time.
She would have regretted it if whilst they messed about getting her rabbit her house was on fire and there was no-one available to put it out. |

no - especially when other things weren't first attempted - it's ridiculous and probably scared the rabbit half to death anyway, they are timid creatures that can die of fright - it probably could've been coaxed out w/ food - and i know other people call them for similar things, but that doesn't make it right - that isn't what they are there for |

They did the job, nice one boys but they would have answered a shout to a fire first and also would have left a half recovered rabbit if a shout would have come through.
Digging out a rabbit didn't endanger anybody because they would have prioritised...they wouldn't stay rescuing cats up trees, digging rabbits from under sheds or pulling cows stuck in mud flats if a fire call, RTA or other 999 call comes through. |
