Shame you didn't explain this question a little better.
My understanding is that under California law (and maybe all states), any part of a day is a day. I can't point you to a particular law that says that, but I see it being referred to in court time and time again. Guess I never bothered to find out why.
What this means (or at least what I have seen), is that if you're booked into the County Jail for a few hours before you get released, that time counts as one full day later on if you are sentenced to any time in jail.
It's different for sentences that specify a certain number of hours in custody. DUI in California is punishable the first time around by 48 hours in jail, not two days. |

i think it is calculated as per u r working hrs. so working hrs. is 8 hrs but that doesn't mean u wud come out of jail in 8 hrs.
if u r sentenced for 1 day jail, than u have to spend whole 24 hrs in it. |
