I was pretending I had labor pain and then he told me his wife was a nurse and asked if I wanted her to come there. I acted for about 5 min thinking the whole time how am I actually gonna get out of this one. He finally let me go without a ticket when I told him I was feeling better. I actually just wanted to get home and eat more.

The truth. I have gotten more warnings by just shutting up and telling the truth. When they ask me how fast I was going - I tell the truth. When they ask me if I knew what the speed limit was I tell the truth. When they ask me why I was speeding - I apologize and tell them that I was in a hurry. Be polite and always use the term "officer."

There are no instructions for getting out of a citation. Attitude may have a bearing.

nothing, just nod yes and no. Look innocent and sorry. The best things to say is nothing, that will prevent you from saying sometime stupid that would get you into more trouble.

First and foremost, it not what you say as much as how you say it. Being polite will get you much farther than being rude.

Next, be honest. Depending on how much over the speed limit, I more likely to give a warning if somebody tell me they were going the approximate speed I had them at. If I know I got you at 70 in a 55 and you tell me you were going 60, you get a ticket.

And, don't give me some flimsy excuse for speeding. The one I liked best was when this guy told me he didn't have an excuse for speeding other than he had his head up his XXX. I gave him a warning.

first off dont speed. but i know everyone speeds at some point, to some degree. i am more lenient than most officers. but the best policy is to just tell the truth and admit you were wrong. thats with any case with the police

Be honest. Don't get confrontational. "Why did you pull me over cop!?"

90% of the car stops I make are simply going to be a warning. The other 10% are cited for dangerous driving and attitude.

As a police officer for 19 years, there is no guaranteed way to get out of a ticket, but in my experience, the nicer you are, the worst I feel writing you a ticket.

"Yes sir, no sir" is a decent start.

Also, admitting responsibility for speeding instead of claiming "I didn't know I was speeding" may be helpful.

"Gee Officer, isn't there a weight limit for joining the force?"

"No Occifer, I'm not as think as you drunk I am"

"Oh sure I saw your lights Officer, as a concerned citizen I was merely clearing the road for you"

Complement the officer on his appearance. Something like this: " Gee, officer, your mother dresses you nicely..."
