What would be the differences between a revolver with a 4-inch barrel, and the same revolver with a 6-inch barrel, besides the look of the gun, of course...

A longer barrel results in better accuracy. There are two reasons for this. First of all, the longer the bullet stays in the barrel, the truer it will fly. Secondly, the sights are further apart on a longer barrel, resulting in a more accurate sight plane.
The disadvantage is it is more difficult to conceal. |
