It depends on the province that your in. Legal drinking age is generally 19 though, however, most provinces have an allowance for parents to give their kids alcohol. The kids' friends can also recieve alcohol from the parent provided that the parent is the legal guardian of the friend at the time. (For example, its legal for an adult to give his kid and his kids' friend a beer if the 3 of them are camping together and the parent is supervising them)
All provinces have laws against alcohol comsumption in public, and drinking while driving a vehicle.
As for driving while intoxicated, its illegal to have more than a .08 blood alcohol percentage. |

You have to be 19 to drink outside the home but your parents can serve you alcoholic beverages in the home. They can't serve them to friends though. Being caught drinking probably won't get you in trouble with the police (in terms of sentencing) but you'll probably get in huge trouble w/ your parents if the police have to take you home. |
