Prescribed drugs obtained without a professional are illegal. GP's can prescribe things like heavy pain killers, valium, anti-depressants. Psychologists can also prescribe these (not sure if they're able to give out pain killers). Psychiatrists can prescribe heavier things like lithium (for more serious mental illnesses).

If you're after specific, "well known" illegal drugs...try pot, speed, ecstacy, cocaine, heroin, LSD.

Alcohol should be included (studies have shown, had it been invented today, alcohol would be on the illicit list), it IS illegal if underage/driving.

Nicotine is also illegal if underage.

I don't know what age you are - It almost always means drugs such as heroine, cocaine, marijuana, ecstacy, LSD, crack-cocaine, etc, that people take as tablets or by injection or by smoking to get a 'high' or short-lived extremely happy feeling. They quickly get addicted to them and can't live without them. They get horrible feelings when they can't get them. Some people turn to crime to pay for their drugs or become a dealer and sell drugs to other people to pay for their own drugs. Some of the drugs were created as 'recreational drugs' by criminal organisations specially for the purpose of getting high. Others are medicines being mis-used.

'illegal drugs' doesn't usually refer to 'unlicensed or unapproved drugs/medicines', where people are buying drugs from overseas that have not been approved as safe and effective by the government.

If it is not prescribed by your Dr it is illegal! If you can not buy it over the counter it is illegal! Cold & allergy meds are even being controled. Actually, you have pretty much answered your own question. Drugs that are not legal include, Marijuana, Cocaine, Heroine, L.S.D., Ecstatsy and a long list of others that are not precribed or sold OTC, or over the counter, in drug stores and Pharmacies in the supremarket. If you cannot buy it legally, it is illegal. Prescription drugs are controlled substances that may only be purchased with a doctor's order or prescription. These become illegal when sold to or used by someone for whom they are not presribed. Alcohol is ian illegal drug for persons under age 21 and tobacco is illegal for those under 18. Included also in the list of illegal substances are methamphetamines, or "speeds", which are chemical stimulants, and "huffers', or glue that can be sniffed, some sprays, that when inhaled cause a lack of oxygen, and on many school campuses, all drugs not distributed by a school nurse may be considered illegal.

A simple fact is any substance which alters your physical or mental state out with medical supervision is classed an Illegal drug. Including mushrooms, cannabis, speed cocaine, acid etc.

Illegal drugs would usually be some sort of mind altering drug that is used for any purposes other than medicinal purposes, and used for recreation instead. Alcohol and tobacco are obviously mind altering drugs, but they are approved by and with regulations for consumption without being used as supplements or medicinal purposes.
