My best friend and I were leaving school and he was caught speeding. he was going 40 in usually a 35 mph zone, unfortunately it was right after school so it was in a school zone. he didn't realize how fast he was going and the street the school sits on is rural and there was hardly any traffic. he doesn't care about paying the ticket, obviously he knows what he did was wrong, but what are the chances that the ticket will be deferred? he doesn't want this on his record and it's his first ticket.

It depends on the rules of your state, as well as the age of the driver. But, since it is his first ticket there is a decent chance he will be able to plea it down, probably not to a non-record violation though. The school zone makes it tough. However, if he can plea it down enough, traffic school may be enough to get the resulting ticket cleared. |

The odds are slim, but the thing to do is to talk to the judge rather then signing the back of the ticket and paying it. |

well to keep it of your record more than likely he will have to attend drivers school for 8 hours and not get another ticket in a year
but for it being defered i doubt it since this was a school zone |
