What can I do about nosy neighbor?

I have a neighbor not sure which one that calls our landlord about every little thing. Recently my husband and I went on vacation for a week so the neighbors called the home owners and told them they noticed we have not been home. So the owner called the realtors and yelled at them. Which they then came to us, all over nothing. I don't like they are watching us so closely I feel uncomfortable that they are watching when we are home and not at home. We are quiet never have people over and are very clean renters. Is there anything I can do?

Probably someone with nothing but time on their hands.
At least someone is watching the house, if you were hurt, help would be there.
Bad side in this story is the owners? They called the realtors? Why you behind on rent.
Then they (realtors) came to you, tell them to bite it?
Use to have a nice elderly lady did the same thing, to everyone in the apartment complex, (36 units) Go out, be gone for a week, hospital wife was pregnant 4 day stay, police called, they been killed hahaha.
Sometimes ya have to sit back and laugh. Find out who it was that called the owners and then tell those people we gonna be gone for a week etc can you watch the place till we get back. Usually brought the nice elderly lady a souvenir spoon tea cup. Best neighbor we ever had, knew every one who came and went.

In this situation which I have had before you would generally let the situation ride if this is the first instance. But according to your question this would suggest that your neighbor is watching you like a hawk. This can be considered annoying since you keep to yourself and since they have filed complaint on you then you can have them in trouble for slander only if it is a condition that they are making you out to be something that you are not.

There are a few different paths depending on your personality. Personally, I think all neighborhoods have busy bees who have nothing better to do than to make everyone miserable.

First, you could try to find out who it is by making small talk with several of your neighbors. When you get more comfortable with some of them, you can mention your concern about an overzealous neighbor... maybe some of the other neighbors agree with your thinking and will spill the beans on who it is. You could then confront the busy bees and state that you wish to be contacted before they resort to outside resources. This will probably stop their behavior.

Second, you could ignore their antics and be happy that someone would notice if someone attempts to break into your house.

Third, you could move, but this probably won't solve the issue, because I feel all neighborhoods have at least one nosy neighbor.
