Contact your local police department, they are suppose to handle all cases re guarding crimes against persons, the action takes place from your home residence and that police agency is bound by law to take the report of the action or crime.

They also can ref. you to the FBI or another agency if needed.

You may contact the local police department to get the ball rolling. Unfortunately if it is not a huge PD they probably don't have an Internet or Electronic investigation unit but that doesn't mean they won't take a report. Even state police may not be all that much more helpful. Like with any crime the seriousness of it will determine how far the case gets investigated. If someone is using your ID or milking you for thousands of dollars by invading credit accounts and bank accounts I would suggest the FBI. They have the resources, manpower, and time to investigate these types of crimes and if it is happening to you it may be happening to many other people in your area. I have found that when a person is milked for a couple hundred dollars, it may not seem like a huge internet crime but that one person is not alone and there may be 10, 20, or 30 more people who were taken for the same amount in the same manner so no matter what report the internet crime.

Cyber crimes are dealt under Cyber laws enacted by different countries. For that purpose special cells have been formed within the Police organization of the respective countries. The information about the special police cell, which deals with the cyber crimes can be had either from your local phone directory, or from the telephone exchange or by contacting the public relations officer of the police headquarter. On detailed report the special cell will investigate the case and book the fraudester.

Given that you post no further information with your question, I can only say to contact your local police/sheriff dept. If you've been victimized by crime, start with them.

If by chance you are being harassed, save all messages from the person. Change your passwords to be safe. Do not respond to the person directly, but send all their messages to the person's Internet Service Provider.

If it is more serious than that, like threats or fraud, contact the police in their area (if you know where they are from). Also check out the FBI's fraud investigation program, not sure of a site address, but should be able to google it.
