They buy the majority of there guns from over here in the States and they are killing are own citizens and policemen with our guns that does not make any sens we are just helping them out....how do you think we can stop that?

You're out of touch friend. This claim was debunked weeks ago. It was just an attempt by the opportunists in the Obama administration to defame American gun owners. They know they can't succeed in a frontal assault on gun rights so they are trying to sway public opinion by spreading disinformation. Do you feel used? You should. |

They get some of their guns (17% by one count) from the USA -- often from Mexican Army soldiers who desert to the cartels and take their weapons (legally purchased from the USA) with them.
The drug cartels have literally billions of dollars lying around in cash. It makes no sense for them to send people north to buy guns in onesies and twosies from gun shops. They get most of their weapons by the boatload from the international black markets.
There is no law you can pass that will prevent criminals from breaking the law.
If you want to cut the legs out from under the drug cartels, decriminalize drugs and make them available by prescription to registered addicts. The prices will plummet and they won't have money to buy weapons. |

We are dealing with cartels that have large amounts of cash at their disposal and people who are not afraid of breaking laws. Passing new laws is not a real answer since they don't really care what the laws say and won't stop their activities just because we write some new ones. We need to get tougher with them and focus more on them. Identifying and stopping their operatives from crossing the border will help. Launching investigations and arresting any and all of their members on our side of the border that we can build cases on is another. There is no magic solution, it is going to take hard work and serious effort. |
