What can you do with a BA in criminal justice without being a cop?

My girlfriend wants to major in criminal justice but she does not want to be a cop, at all. What are some other specific options she has? She is convinced that every job opportunity requires you to be a police officer for at least 2 years etc. She is not really fit to be any sort of jailer or dispatch position. She wants a solid career. If you say FBI or something please state specifically what she could do in the FBI. Thank you and please help.

Almost all sworn local Law Enforcement Positions require some time on the street in patrol first. This allows officers to learn how to be a cop before being assigned to other roles (like SWAT, or a Detective).
Federal Agencies hire investigators directly (FBI, Secret Service, ICE, ATF, etc) Special Agents are all Law Enforcement Positions. These positions require a degree and general responsible work experience to meet the minimum requirements.
But meeting the minimum is usually not enough to get hired because they are so competitive. Usually, Local Law Enforcement Experience or time in the military will be necessary to help give a leg up on the competition. Learning a foreign language (specifically, Farsi, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, or Russian) will be a big help too.
Other positions would include probation and parole officers, and security positions with private corporations. |

criminal justice gets you no where without being a cop unless you want to be a judge. but mostly you need to have a law profession before that so its a bs degree... get a different major. most cops dont even have criminal justice degrees cuz they know its crap |
