This brings back horrible memories for me. I could have written what you just wrote. I wrecked my vehicle on a road that was not fixed properly, and didn't have any road signs or barriers up. There were others in the vehicle, and we were all hurt but everyone recovered. I was ostracized by those hurt, their families, and many of my peers. Added to this, the policeman who was first on the site thought that my friend had been driving. He even gave the ticket to my friend while I was passed out unconscious, according to the ER doctors. Later on at the trial, the policeman denied this fact and made up all kinds of lies about how I was speeding and probably on drugs. It took two years of suing him to finally reveal the truth and have some resolution. However, I am still ostracized, and I paid dearly, emotionally and financially. Your only recourse is to sue this policeman. If he did that to you, he WILL do that to other people. Yes, finally .... someone says it for what it is ... what he is doing in court is destroying our system of justice. |

If it's a minor ticket, I'd let it go. It is legal for you to carry a video/audio recorder with you in the car from now on if you are worried about this, but I wouldn't start wwIII over it. Unfortunatly a few cops are bad, but the majority of them are decent, underpaid, people who want to help others! |

You will be surprised what the police get away with. Its always your word against theirs, and no-one ever questions a police office. |

Traffic court is revenue for the state. They don't care about the truth. You would have to hire a lawyer and file an appeal against the courts decision on the original case. Prove the office lied and get it thrown out. Then you would have premise to file against the officer and other agency's. |

You might consider a lawsuit, but it sounds like you have been screwed by the "good old boys club" that pervades most law enforcement. They pull the wagons in a circle whenever threatened. The truth is that this happens every single day of the week and most people don't beat it. |

This happens all the time. Read the newspapers and you will see that for yourself.
Filing a complaint with the district attorney will do no good because if the policeman were disgraced, it could hinder many prosecutions. The best way to have action is to contact the media. They can put pressure on the police if they choose to report this. You will need proof. And hopefully you do not live in a town where the newpapers and cops are buddies. |

The only thing you might be able to do, is write a letter to the editor of your newspaper, and tell your side of the story, and direct the question to the public, if they have been lied about in a court of law, by a police officer. You might get a reaction from someone, but it might backfire, and all the cops will be watching you, and stopping you . |

all i can say is document everything you said and saw with much detail and file it away - one day he may tell a big lie and you will be able to out him for a liar |

if you took it to court, they may still have the video from the time he pulled you over, or it may have been destroyed.
last year, i was pulled over for coming to a rolling stop at an intersection. when he pulled me over in the grocery store parking lot, he asked me if i wanted to look at myself running the stop sign, they have video's in the car and tape record the happenings.
try to get a hold of the tape...they may still have it, since you took him to court. |

Power corrupts. Create a website that allows people to post their experiences. You seem to have enough evidence to post the offercers name. In time the darkness will turn to light. |

It happens all the time. Like another person said, read the news. You need an attorney to sort this out for you if it is worth it to you. One time I hired an attorney to straighten out a business matter for me. I was proven right, and the other person wrong, and In the long run, I broke even. My point is that I felt sooooo much better paying that money to an attorney instead of to the person who had bullied me. |

No it does not weigh on you. You just want to get your own back. Perjury is not minor differences on notes ans evidence it is far more serious than that. All this over a minor offence, I ask you, Is it actually worth it? |

very simple. go to the police departmnet and file a complaint with internal affairs.now be very careful when you file a complaint against a officer.if the complaint id found to be unfounded then he can in return file a cae against you for filing a false complaint against a officer.if you are convicted it has alot of jail time.

You could off him. Or find a way to set him up for charges that would make it impossible to be a police officer any longer. Short of these extremes, not too much is available for you in the way of doing anything about it. 1. Too much time has passed to be taken seriously by enforcement types. 2. It comes down to your word against theirs, and they protect their cops, most judges do, so your word means squat as compared to his. Sorry, but the sad fact is, I'm right on this. Hell, I got beat by a cop for running from another one until he got called in. Traffic offenses got me a beating. Reported, and ignored! And you know what he does with more serious cases? Plants stuff that he thought was there if it isn't. Dishonesty is just that, and knows no boundary it will respect, to my knowledge. And a DA is nothing if not a creep you wouldn't have over to your house. They lie and cheat in court worse than most cops, and consider it the cost of doing business, all part of their job. Authorities and the abuses they heap upon our citizenry are out of control. Viva la revoluccion' ! |

I don't know how you could prove the officer lied. Unfortunately, a lot of people in a lot of different professions lie.
Probably nothing you can do. |

I would find a reporter form your local paper and try to get an interview and explain your facts to them..maybe a last resort!!
Go to a lawyer and see if anything at all can be done..legally |

I was a district court clerk for 10 years. It would have helped in this question if you had been more specific and told us what he lied about. Police can't remember every little detail on the person they stopped. The thing you need to ask yourself first is, "Are you guilty of this traffic violation?". If you are then you have no case. I can't tell you how many times someone called complaining to me about their ticket and I would ask that question. 99 percent of the people admitted that they did make that violation. If you did, then you have to pay. Simple as that. |

Prove it! You can't, can you or this would be over with. Internal Affairs loves to go after cops and catch them doing wrong, especially breaking the law. If even the internal affairs unit isn't interested, than it's a sure bet that there is no perjury involved. Police Officers don't write "notes" on the backs of tickets and actually hand them over to people to see. So what you think he wrote in his notes are not necessarily what he wrote. Time to move on and stop going after a cop who did his job, even if you had to pay a fine for it. |

My son is serrving 26 years first offense. The police write a confesion said my son wrote it, it came out in court the police wrote it, but the judge let it go any way. The police said my son gave him permission to write it and that he signed it, now we find my son didn't sign it nor did the police. But the judge used it any way. My son is serving 26 years without evidence. I don't feel sorry any more when policmen or judges get offed. Their dirty deeds I believe catch up with them. The lawyer asked was my son under a sudical watch and the police said no. It can be proven by the phone conversation that's a lie. The police told me when I stoke to him that my son was under a sudical watch. Those records are kept but the judge wouldnt' recall them. So much for the justice system. Police, lawyer, judges are no better than anyone else they lie, cheat and steal. |

i had an over zealous police officer conduct an investigation from a false allegation that was made and a warrant was issued, i put 3 trail cameras 2 inside and 1 outside of my home, when the police showed up at my house and no1 was home they broke in and stole a tv dvd player and a notebook of evidence i had. does anyone know who might buy those pictures my lawyer wants $50,000 to try the case. No search warrant was ever issued and they claim they were never in my home and dont know about the cameras. |
