What do you do to protect yourself and your home from thief?

crime rate increases when there arnt enough jobs to go around and when people cannot support there familys (i.e most WoW power levelers come FROM CHINA because it pays them better then a real job)

I can,t say about China, but I sleep with a 12 Gage cylinder bore shotgun loaded with double O buckshot near my bed nights also my dog can be depended on to turn in alarms when someone tries to break in the house.

My security system is from several manufacturers:

The system is activated by the dog.
It has been very effective on two seperate occasions.

I make sure my doors are locked, windows are closed and turn on my security system. If I am gone for an extended period, I use timers on lights so they will go on and off making it look like someone it home.

i have an alarm system in my house so if any doors or windows are opened or broken the alarm will go off and if no one turns off the alarm the company will call us and ask us if everything is alright and that we need a password to make sure it is us.

I would say stealing items from stores mabey?

People are changing the price of items or increasing and people need to continue eating and such. Some people think they NEED a game system or tv and such. So people who either dont have much money will steal the items.

I like to live on the top floor of the apartment buildling I'm living in. Think about it - if someone wants to steal my TV or computer, they're going to have to carry it a long way down. Yes, it's a pain moving in, but it's worth it for that added bit of security.

As far as China, I have no idea.

i rather protect my house from fire than to be raid by a thief. it's better to be raid by a thief than my house is on fire.

Take defense classes, buy a security system, get cameras, make sure your doors and windows are secured shut, buy windows that are hard to break, don't hide keys outside under a rock or mat, etc.

Watch "It Takes a Thief". It's a really good tv series about ex-robbers who break into homes (with permission) to make a point to the homeowners to upgrade security. Then they pay for all of the upgrades. It's like a thriller, because they show the break-in. It's a really interesting show to watch, and you can definitely learn a lot about security and protection.

We make sure that all of our outside lights are on. We have asked our neighbors to do the same. We are trying to form a neighborhood watch. We called our local police station and asked them to increase the patrol in our area. Im not sure what the biggest problem in China would be since Im in the US. Crime rate is increasing here because poverty is. So is boredom. Its a mix of children whose parents never taught them better, children with nothing better to do, and people who actually have a need for an item they cant afford (food, clothes, etc.)

just hide sharpen things into your side for your self defense but it's better to pray and do something for the safetiness..

Put a burglar alarm at home it catches thiefs , at least on sims it does :)
