What do you do when police keep killing blackmen?

here is an idea, how about you organize the people in your city to police themselves.

If you can stop the "blackmen" from doing things that make the police come to their area, then there could be no police "abuse"

I live in a very diverse part of town, the only time I see a police officer is when I am driving past the police station, this is due to the fact that everybody in this area works, we pay our bills and raise our children, nobody beats their wives or children, nobody robs other people or steals from others, and nobody murders another.
There is no reason for the police to come to our area.

This may seem like a pollyanna sort of answer but it does work, life CAN be that easy. The only problem is, you have to get everybody on the same page, everybody has to want a better life for their family.

Well, first you could do a spell check then you could sit down and think about how most people are weary of black people because of the way they present themselves. There are stereotypes for a reason. No one sits around saying things like hey black people are more prone to commit crimes for no reason etc... If you are sick of being treated unfairly then stop whining and take it upon yourself to do something constructive for your race. I have heard someone on here say what a strong race of people you are but you have not done anything to prove it. If you want to be treated with dignity then by all means show some. If you want to be treated with respect then respect others. Simple thing really, but if you do nothing but complain then of course things will never change.

Have you ever considered that to spend the time and money to BECOME a policeman a person must have a passion to help society and help people in order to complete what is required to get to that position? Whether the policeman/woman is black or white, they don't apply for the job because they get a kick out of 'targeting' a certain race, creed or gender (that's why they are required to pass psychological exams as well) and they usually don't pursue that career because they want to hurt people-they usually have the ideal to 'protect the innocent' or they wouldn't be placing THEIR lives on the line for a low paying job. Have you considered that the 'brothers' may have been acting in a way to threaten their own family, complete strangers, the police?
I am white, (of MULTI decent) but fought for equal rights-and have taught my children to judge EVERY person on the basis of their character, NOT to hate them because they are a different color, but it doesn't mean they have to like a person's actions because they're black, either.
If you think you need to become 'militant' because people of your race were killed, aren't you feeding into the same predjuices that you believe the police were acting on? and isn't that making just another 'wrong'?
Martin Luther King, Jr. was an icon-not a BLACK icon-he was great MAN-through his beliefs, ideals and tactics- and through his ACTIONS. Instead of looking at your 'killed brothers' as a vendetta action toward "blacks", maybe consider THEY were acting in a way to provoke a threat to others
-look at yourself in your own actions to create the peace you want to see between ALL races.

There really is nothing we can do about this problem. No matter the protests and whatever, some white police will never treat a black man with any more respect. Police brutality, Amadu Diallo, and so on. This garbage will never end. As long as we are black men, we're at a much greater risk to be beaten, racially-profiled or worse...killed.

unfortunately fighting back when they fight you is the only way or if you see a rodney king incident then you dont just get a camera and shoot, you get a gun and shoot because we have been the victims of police brutality for too long so it is clear that the only thing they understand is violence, you let a few of them get shot in the back and end up cripple or dead and you watch what happen. i got a GOD given right to protect myself and fight for my life and i will if you gone kill me at least i'm taking some of them with me thats just how i feel and that is why i love 2Pac cause he fought for his life and shot those two cops that was gonna try to kill him

you need to protest and protest for humanity and people in general, get anyone and everyone involved, do not make it about a race but all race and it will be better, but if you want to make it about your race is fine just get people involved in the protest and as long as is peaceful you will be heard, and call the newspaper and the television news and let them know you are having a protest inform everyone, if it is peaceful you will be heard, i still think everyone should participate you would be surprise how much people would actually be willing to participate for humankind and make you voices heard the more the better no matter what background, but you voices should be heard, peace to you all

Your best chance at actually making a difference is to contact your state bur ea of investigations, and perhaps federal as well. This happens too much, and not just to black men. There is a legal limit to the numbers of times a taser may be used on a person, and if the one was considered not unjust and people really feel otherwise, talk with your state bureau of investigations and the family, push for an exhumation on the body and an outside autopsy (body being dug up and someone from the state, outside of your town, performing a completely new autopsy to decide the cause of death). Also, i would seriously recommend contacting as many people as you can....the news, NAACP, the Black Coalition, National Black Justice Coalition, etc. You will hopefully find some hep, and may even be able to get free legal aid for these people and their families. .........Read some of these and had to modify my response....I know a white guy that got pulled over in another state for no reason beyond he had out of state tags and they felt he would pay a fine instead of coming back to fight it. He cussed at one of them. They drug him out of the car, tazered him seven times, three alone on his head (by the way, three is the legal limit), beat him repeatedly, proped his head up on his own back tire and used a billy club across the face to break his nose. He lost consciousness multiple times, and one of the "arresting officers" decided after getting him into the jail and the nurse there flipping out on them that they should take him to the ER. He took the guy because he thought the guy was dying. The case was dropped after somebody threatened his lawyer. This happened to my brother-in-law. A white 34 year od man, husband and father of three. They justified beating him by saying that he punched one of them, but this man was trained in martial arts for years and there was not a single mark on any of the cops. This man could have taken out all three of the cops if he had chosen to, but he was trying to do the right thing. Any of you that say cops don't do things to people just because they can are blind, ignorant, and stupid. Wake up!

Because the police scared of the black men, "trained" people usualy kill in fear, thinking that the black men is always armed and ready to commit murder. This is what has been a stereotype for long time and Holywood helped it. But in my hood, no police come close, not that we hate them, but we tell'em not to f*ck with us.

Almost 100% of the time, whenever something of this sort happens, it turns out that the police were simply doing their job in a professional manner and the death was caused by the criminal acting in a violent manner. The only exception to this are certain municipals where the local drug gangs have infiltrated the local politics and taken over the police force (what happened in Harvey Illinois is a good example).

As far as vigilante justice goes, that almost certainly will result in all the people involved being shot, for good reason. And I must say, as a citizen, I fully support my police in stopping violent criminal scum, no matter what the situation and I understand that those scum sometimes cause their own deaths.

For the most part, racism against blacks absolutely does not exist, especially in the police departments. And if black people want to stop being killed then they should 1) stop committing violent crime and 2) when caught in the act of violent crime, immediately surrender to police. Your life depends on it.

And for those of you who think I'm being a bit harsh, here are the violent crime statistics with regard to blacks:

That is SHAMEFUL. Blacks should be deeply ashamed that situation exists with regard to crime. It shows quite clearly that the issue with blacks and prison and occassionally being killed while being apprehended is based on black behavior not on the behavior of police (which is professional and appropriate near 100% of the time). Bottom line. Blacks are arrested, go to jail and are occassionally killed because they are MUCH more likely to be depraved, psychopathic criminals than anyone else. If you don't like it....then change.

If people stop comitting crimes, the police wouldn't tazer them. give it up, its not because they were black that they died, its because they were criminals. Hell, a few blocks from where I live a black guy nearly stabbed a white cop to death, but when the cop shot him in self defence, the black community were up in arms. It didn't matter that the guy had already stabbed his sister and nephew. They just saw it as a white cop killing another brother. No, its a cop doing his job and protecting people from criminals.

So, what are all the facts. I mean, to hear you tell it. White cops just go around zapping blacks for no reason. Sounds like a Jesse Jackson view point. Let's not talk about what all the reason they had to get zapped. Let's just scream out because it was a blackman and the cops were white. You know what. Most of the time, they did something to desrve it. Police have a right to protect themselves. See, there was a black grandma. She went to a school, has a run in with the pincipal of the school. The principal get a restraining order banner her from the school. She shows up. Get's asked, politley mind you, to leave. She don't. They call the police. And all of a sudden, she did nothing wrong. Ummm.......Yeah....right. And everyone in prison is innocent too. Don't forget that. And isn't it funny, if it were black cops zapping a white man....you would cry out injustice then would you.

The people in your city have to want to take a stand against the injustice and want to try to bring an end to all that's going on. There's nothing that I can tell you to do that will help for real except maybe have a rally and talk to others about it to get them involved.

What does race have to do with it? I am a white suburbanite and went to a downtown club and got a little loud and rowdy, then witnessed my first police brutality experience when my firend was hit in the head with a baton after he was handcuffed. He was white and the cop was white. Anyways, to answer your question, I would say the key is video footage turn in to the media before the police so they doctor it. They have the advantage all the time, the media is your only defense. Political pressure is only thing that can keep em in check.
