I know there are always a bunch of government/cop sympathizers in here, come on, tell me how he was just doing his job, how he didn't know, how cops are always right, how he was justified for pulling a gun on somebody for rolling through a red light, come on.

I think that he should be sued in civil court!
Wow he resigned, imagine that. for those who feel he was justified, why did he resign?

His mother-in-law. You can bet the good officer would not have pulled a gun on a white family. I suspect that's why he had to "resign". |

Both made plenty of mistakes. Having seen many car chases in Southern Cal one never knows for sure what might happen. Officer Powell may not even know Moats by sight. If he let off someone that looked like Bush but wasn't & had done some crime how many of you howling would be howling against him letting whitey off? |

Obviously you have never been a cop, or put into that situation daily. The cop was justified in pulling over. The cop was justified in pulling his weapon as Moats didn't stay in the car as direct and the office was threatened. The excuse of his mother dying may have been just that and the officer has heard them all. What I would have done, was cuff him and escort him up to his mother to make sure it was true, then uncuff him, wait, give him my condolences and please dign here for your traffic warrant! |
