What happens if my car was vandalised and the police caught the guy doing it?

A man was scratching marks on my car and the police saw him and arrested him. They then contacted me (I was in school) and asked me questions and I got the case #. Does anything else happen? Do I get repayment for the damage that was done? I live in California.

probably nothing ive had a similar incident happen to me twice and they caught the people both times and i got nothing out of it. i had to report it to my ins. and watch my rates go up just because of some idiot. |
