I am concerned about some relatives who live in Colorado. The mom is 23 and has a 1 year old. Her 17 year old brother lives with her. Their dad supports them. Their dad makes a considerable amount of money. Their mother died a few years ago. They manipulate their dad into paying all of their bills and they do not work. Their dad lives in another state and had bought a condo for her because she was orginally going to college, got pregnant and then stopped going to school, didn't get a job or anything. They are very manipulative and they lie frequently to get dad to pay. Dad makes a decent salary where he is able to do this but has recently been warned he is about to be laid off. No matter what, they spend up to $4,000 a month. They tell their dad they can't wait for him to die so they can take all of his money. Despite this, dad continues to pay.
CPS recently became involved because the infant brain was bleeding. Here are some concerns:
1) Mom has made the statement "I wish I had gotten an abortion" or "I wish I never had this baby"
2) The 17 year old brother frequently gets high and mom allows the brother to watch the baby.
3) Both lack empathy for others and are very manipulative.
4) Both seem to think it's normal for your parents to buy you a brand new car, pay all your bills, (which dad says he does not want to do and is trying to stop doing), they claim his income is their income.
5) The dad was going to make the 23 year old get a job. She was going to leave the baby in the care of a man who has a history of mental illness. She did refuse the job after he had "another" mental break down - which she knew he has many.
6) For Christmas, the daughter called dad and said she needed 200 dollars because she just bought herself a GPS navigation system - she never asked for money for her daughter. She has no other source of income. She never got anything for her daughter for Christmas.
7) She acts like her baby's head bleeding is not a big deal and thinks that it's unreasonable for CPS to be involved.
8) Both were severely abused as children in particular by the mother.
9) She is very obsessed with wanting to give her child medication for bi-polar disorder. She is very preoccupied with mental illness and with medications for them.
10) The child's dad is involved as per the court order - which ongoing - the mom is so intently focused on his mental issues and they keep going around about it.
11) The 17 year old believes that the government is lying and saying that drugs are bad for people because of propganda and that is should actually be legal.
12) The 17 year old frequently speaks in a violent manner or abuse manner towards others. He thinks women are B's and that all they want is money. He is very disrespectful towards his father.
13) The 23 year old is very intelligent and has a lot of talent. She has no real aptitude of life skill. She says she cannot turn in the application for day care assistance because the office is only open during certain hours. She refuses to seek any financial assistance.
CPS made her stay with another lady for a safety plan. It was recently reported that the brother is frequently high. What happens if he comes up positive on the drug test? He may become ugly with the social worker as well.

If the facts in your post are accurate, this lady is not providing a good environment to raise a child and is putting her child's welfare at risk. Surely, if you can come to these conclusions as a casual observer, CPS will be able to come to the same conclusion in their investigation.
Hopefully, the failed drug test will give CPS the leverage they need combined with everything else to terminate her parental rights. |

Hopefully someone will step forward and save the child.
All of that going on and CPS is still letting the child be in that environment?
I also hope that the dad grows a spine and let them fend for themselves. |

why is the babys brain bleeding? sounds like shaken baby syndrome to me. since the bro lives in the home and they drug test him then they will more than likely give her some time to get him out. if she doesnt comply than they will take the baby. it sounds like she only wants the baby to have bi polar so she can collect a s.s. check. ive seen it to many times. my neighbor had her 3yr old arrested n baker acted so she could get a s.s. check for him. maybe the 23yr olds dad should petition the court for custody since he sounds like the only normal one in the family. shes the type that only cares about her self n no one else. she doesnt deserve that kid. |
