What happens when a person has a warrant for failure to comply with one court and another warrant for failure to appear on failure to pay child support with another court in the same county, and the person now lives in another state? The courts have the address.

If they are stopped and warrants from another state pop up, he will be detained and the state where the warrants are will have the chance to come get him. Chances are, they won't. They will arrest him if he returns to the state where he has the warrants if he is stopped, otherwise the punishment of not returning to the state for fear of being arrested is probably enough of a reason for the police to not pursue him.
Contact the child support services in the state he is in and see if they can help or force him to pay. He may run again to another state. Eventually he has to quit running and pay up or continue to look over his shoulder and move around alot. Don't make it easy for him because he's not making it easy on you. Hound him and haunt him in any state he goes. You deserve it and your kid or kids deserve it too.

Its up to the state, where the warrents are, to come find your friend. If he/she gets picked up where they live now and the officer runs their info, the warrents will likely pop up. They would then be detained and the authorities would then contact the state who wants them. Again its then up to that state to come pick your friend up. |
