Could you be a little more specific? What if they have no money? So? That means they don't have money. Whats the question?

At our jail, they would be given basic hygiene items and they could have medications, but they would still be charged for these items and would be sent a collections letter after they were released. If they don't have money on their account they are not allowed to purchase unnecessary items such as extra food, candy, etc.

No commissary money, no extras.....

Jail time is punishment....you must make arrangements with someone on the outside to ensure your account is not depleted of funds.

In my opinion, that's how it should be. Jail is a punishment and the commissary account is a reward. Makes no sense to me......
