Ok you arnt giving the full details. Is there a sign on your yard saying no trespassing? And so what if he walked in your yard? If hes not bothering you purposley and doesnt have a sidewalk to walk on, what do you want him to do? Fly for cryst sakes!

Slippery slope...is he actually a threat to you or your family. Just because you tell someone not to go through your yard and they do, you cannot shoot them. I would have killed about twenty middle school kids today. Post a sign that says no trespassing. Tell him.."Do you see the sign." You sound like someone ready to overreact to a situation. He he a known threat, has he threatened you is the question that the police will ask you as they slap the cuffs on you. If you are a man..be a man and confront him with a Louisville slugger in your hand as he crosses your yard..you don't have to hit him..just the sight should scare him. If your a woman, get your man off the couch and make a man out of him..or just call the cops and file a report.

No. You do not have the right to use deadly force for mere tress passing. You could shoot him, but you would be looking at a murder charge. If he is not armed in any way, and not approaching you, another person or your home, you would have a very hard time proving self defense. If he approaches again. Let him see you with the phone in your hand, and call the police. Let the police deal with him.

Only if he comes into the house. Just say he said he had a gun and was going to shoot you. Or what ever BS you feel will be fit. Its your word against his. And he is dead :)

If he has threatened your family you can get a restraining order and can call the police if you see him again.
But if your out in the country and you post the sign no trespassing you can have rights but it really depends on the state you live.

I do not see how coming in your yard is placing your family in danger. You have failed to articulate any reason for being afraid. I guess the short answer is no, you can not shoot him.
