What is a good pistol for me?

look at a glock 20. its a 10mm auto witch has more power than the .40 cal. and so much more than the 9mm. its great for big hands. although it does have more of a kick than the 9mm, but once you shoot it enough it will not be a problem. my father owns it and nothing has gone wrong with it ever, and he has owned it since christmas. also look at the springfield xd and xdm. i have the xd .40 cal and i love it. try getting a 40 because it has alot better stopping power than the 9mm and doesn't have that much kick. and for personal protection get federal efmj. it works like a hollow point but better. because hollow point can get clogged up in the hollow part of the bullet and act like a full metal jacket witch will do you no good in stopping a man. but with the expanding full metal jacket it will not clog. it will have consistent expansion. look at the glock and xd and see what you think.

The 9 mm parabellum is a fairly weak round though the upside is usually a larger mag capacity but not for concealment. you'd probably be best off with a 45 acp that holds 7 or 8 rds. Even a wacked out pcp freak will say "OUCH" when slammed with 240 grains of lead. Another option would be a snub nose revolver in 38 caliber. same bullet dia as a 9 but with alot more knock down force, usually 6 rds. p.s. I've always found revolvers more accurate & reliable.

I would go with the Taurus Millennium Pro .40 cal...it's well built, compact, powerful, and reliable...it takes me 15 seconds to break mine down for cleaning, it's that good...not to mention it has a rail for when you're ready to add that laser sight
