What is the best type of gun to carry as a concealed weapon?(Legally)?

I carry a glock 23... Its the compact .40

I suggest anything that you can wear, be comfortable, fire well, pull quickly and easily conceal. Id go with a subcompact .40 if I had the money to go buy another one.

No single answer is correct. The best weapon for YOU is the one you are most comfortable using in self defense. Find a good handgun range. They will have several guns available for rental. Rent a variety and see which is best for you.

It's a matter of preference. There are a number of fine weapons suitable for conceal carry. I like the SW Defender w/2' barrel.

As with Martin a .380 ( It does not matter who makes it ). Same as "38".I have a colt 380,Check your State laws. Go to N.R.A's web site. It is small but...All Answers ar good......380 is the same as 9 m.m.,called 9 m.m. "short" ( The Case is shorter-less powder-less power ).It is up to how much weight,attention you want.

I'm in WA, and it's an open gun law state so we can carry with conceal permit. I carry a .22 Beretta Cougar whenever I go fishing or out at night. It's very accurate and small enough to fit in your back pocket. It was my fiance's back up gun when he was on duty, he has big hands too and it fits him perfect.

Your question is a tough one to answer properly, as I do not know the state or city in which you live. Some states and cities have enacted laws against the ownership/use of handguns that have a magazine capacity exceeding "X" numbers of rounds.

Once that is established, the choice is a highly personal one. Start with what you would like the weapon chambered in... 9 X 19 mm is a popular chamber, as is the venerable .45 ACP. The only way you're going to figure out what's best for YOU is to try as many different models as possible in a variety of chambers.

I personally do the glock, as a officer I used a 9mm S/W as a concelled backup weapon

But it is all amatter of fit, where and how you are going to hide it.

a .38 snub nose revolver. They never misfire, and if you ever need to fire more than 5 or 6 shots, then you have much bigger problems!

I like a snub nose revolver (.38) as it is dependable and small and safer. The Glock is my second choice as it has more fire power and concealable and more accurate.

sig-sauer p229 is the best hand gun. It's light, powerful, compact, nice ammo capacity, and very reliable, but it is over $1000. You would do well enough with a .38 semi-auto. I would not recommend a glock.
