California Penal Code 799-805 detail the statute of limitations. Prosecution for felonies punishable by imprisonment for 8 years or more must commence within 6 years. Others within 3 years.

The statute of limitations for all theft offenses which can be filed as felonies is FOUR years from discovery or completion of the offense. (Penal Code 801.5, 803(c)(1).) |

First, the statute of limitations have to do with the filing of the case.
Meaning, if you committed a 487 in 2004, it would have had to have been filed within 5 years of the date of offense.
If you mean if a case has been filed and a warrant issued.... there IS no statute of limitations on the warrant.
I recently arrested a lady from CA who had a felony check case from 1987 and had 'skipped' to Texas.... she was extradited back to CA on the charge.... 21 years after the case was filed.
