What is the stupidest excuse you ever heard of someone telling a cop to beat a speeding ticket?

Folks b!tching about imaginary quotas are always fun, as are those who constantly play the race card.

Individualized I was impressed with; "I am a free born American. The govt has no right to interfere with my travel". Dude was DUI, revoked license, no insurance and unregistered vehicle.

Or ;
Driver-I'm going to the ER, that's why I was speeding
Me-Why?
Driver-I'm dying
Me-I can have paramedics here in 2 minutes
Driver-I'm feeling better now

I had the paramedics come anyway (to cover my ***). Nothing wrong with the driver, and he wasstuck with a $500 bus trip fee.

A state trooper stops a guy for speeding, after he has been chasing him for a couple of miles. The trooper walks up to the car, the driver, and says, "My shift is almost over and I really don't want to have to write you a ticket, I just want to end my shift and go home. But you were speeding and I had to chase you down. If you can give me a reason for your actions, one I have never heard before, I'll let you off with a warning."
The driver thinks for a minute or so and says, "Seven years ago a patrolman, like yourself, ran away with my wife. I thought you were that same guy trying to return her."
The trooper tips his hat and says, "have a nice day sir."

I had a guy tell me that I stopped him because he had cancer. I am not joking at all. I was floored when I heard that one. I have heard all sorts of thing such as because they were black , white , gay , democrat. you name it I have probably heard it but the cancer takes the cake.

This is a true story.

On Long Island, NY, a guy was caught speeding at 85 mph or there about near the Oakdale Merge on Sunrise Highway in 2000 or 2001. A cop pulled him over.

The cop walked walked up to the drivers window and asked the driver what was going on. After all, the speed limit was 55mph and the cop was really frustrated having had a very long and very difficult day.

The driver said something like, "I raced to get here, I was afraid I was going to miss you."

The cop laughed, thanked the guy for the laugh and told him to drive slower.

Now how do I know this?

The drive had one of those cellphone rigs for his car that were popular back when the Nokia 5100/6100's were the popular phone. The drive was on the phone with 106.1 WBLI, live on the air with the DJ's from their morning show. The entire incident was broadcast.
