Well there's the whole 'it's illegal' side of things. There's also the fact that you can then stretch that argument to any crime not hurting other people. But another key argument is that if you let bank robbers off, it'll encourage more of them to do it. And when you have panicked people wielding guns trying to get money, it would only be a (short) amount of time before someone did get seriously hurt. |

How about I come and smash your car up tonight, whilst its parked in the driveway? Just make sure no one is in it so no one gets hurt. After all, you're insured aren't you? So it doesn't really matter - it isn't really a crime, is it? |

just witnessing a bank robbery can affect a human in a terrible way . it will disturb them .but if you walk in to a bank in a suit and ask for money, and they laugh and say no, you will have to use your computer. and when you get caught, and your in jail you can ask a proper bank robber the same question. |

what is wrong with it? youre kidding right??? its not the banks money its the money of the people who put their money in the bank. You cant be serious about this question because thats just pathetic that you would even consider it to be ok. theft is theft and it is wrong |

If its my money and I don't want to give it to you, or be charged a fortune in interest because the bank is paying insurance premiums, plenty. You wouldn't be hurting anyone? Ya think? |

Because robbery is a criminal offence, and even if no one is physically hurt, the psychologial pain of such an event can scar people for years. |

My bank charges will go up to cover it! My bank shares will go down! |

people put their hard earned money into banks for safe keeping.
The money does come from us, and belongs to us .
Theft from a bank is, stealing from you and me .
the banks are insured of course
but the insurance premiums, go up and up,
whenever they have to pay out
. consequently the bank charges us ,higher rates for their services .
Robbing a bank effects all of us .
It is a crime and not an innocent pass-time .
To take money from a bank illegally always, requires some degree of threat.
If no one gets physically hurt , that is a mercy .
Theft from a bank carries very heavy penalties ,
and quite rightly so
I hope this answers your question

Yes the money may be insured but HONEST tax payers will have to suffer. |

Hellooooo. Bank robbery is breaking the law! Laws are in place to keep us a civil society. Though shalt not steal. -- God |

How about the fact that we, as customer, will all end up paying for it when the bank hikes up their fees in order to cover their increased insurance premiums?
There is no such thing as a victimless crime, and bank robbery is most definitely a crime. |
|

katjha2005

because robbing a bank is a crime |
|

steveninc2001

Because eventually the insurance payout to the bank, via the federal governement will be passed down to all of us via more taxes. And robbing a bank is illegal mr stupido. |
|

aholmes12003

have you thought it's because it's breaking the law??? |
|

tantiemeg

It is breaking the law.
And it does hurt people. The bank has to pay for that insurance, so insurance goes up. Guess who gets to pay for that increase? The people who do business with the bank! Though inconvenient, happily, it won't break me. But Guess who can least afford it? Lower income people. (Single mothers, college students, young couples, the elderly, I could go on...Good-night! So much for a "vicitimless crime".) |

Well, I think the big issue is this......IT IS AGAINST THE LAW!!!!! |

Work it right the way down the line mate n its ordinary folks that pay.............. not the banks. |

I suspect if anyone waste the time with a real answer you'll not understand it. |

Joe J

Because it is against the law for starters.
Having insurance is not an excuse. Someone has to pay for that insurance, i.e. the banks customers, tax payers etc.
Can I assume that you do not see anything wrong with your house being burgled if you have insurance? |

Bank robbers will rob you when they don't have more banks to rob. |
