How would you magically make all the guns disappear? there are hundreds of millions of registered firearms in this country alone, Now you add the smuggled weapons and the pre record weapons like the ones filling most Midwestern farm houses from their grandparents. Who is going to turn in their guns? you think MS13 will just say oh shucks and drop them off at the station?

When I was nine my fathers work truck was at the garage overnight and a man thinking he was not home broke into our house to rape and kill my mother (like he had three other women over a 2 month period) My father killed him with his grandfathers navy .38 special. That is all the proof I would have ever needed.

Unfortunately, banning guns is not the answer. Banning them would create a huge black market for them, bringing with it even more crime.

I don't own a gun and never have, but it I give up my constitutional right to bear arms, why should I object when they take away my right to free speech, or one of the other rights expressly named. You may not understand why some people want to have guns, but the constitution gives us that right and it should not be so casually dismissed as a right desired only by a bunch of back-asss country fuks.

Gun bans have actually increased crime rates. You know why? These "gansters" don't abide by a lot of the laws. I mean if you have the nerve to kill someone, why worry about carrying a gun?

You take away the 2nd amendment and you take away the average citizen's way to protect themselves.

Mayor Nagin from New Orleans tried a gun ban after Hurricane Katrina, and needless to say, people could no longer defend the property they owned and things got chaotic.

I can't believe anyone could think that a gun ban would in any way effect people who use guns to commit crimes. THEY ARE CRIMINALS they DO NOT OBEY LAWS they won't obey a gun ban. Bleeding hearts who are soft on violent criminals and take 20,30,or 40 years to carry out punishment promote the violence that you dislike. How long do you think your rental guns will last before they are stolen.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't matter what you think - guns are never going to be banned in America as long as the second amendment exists in our constitution.

I do believe in doing background checks before giving anyone a gun, and I also believe in the extensive training required about handling and using a gun in order to obtain the permit to carry one.

Just because some bad people use guns for bad reasons doesn't mean that they should be banned for other innocent people's personal safety. And banning guns will not stop gang violence.

even if they did ban all guns, only the law abiding citizens with registerd guns would turn them in, the people with unregistered/ illegally procured guns would keep them as it is obviouse they have disregard with the law, and the govt doesnt know they have it,

second, people who are doing illegal things with guns arent buying them from legal gunstores, but from gun dealers wo obtian them illegaly also, no matter what, the people who want an unregistered gun are gonna be able to get them, its the same with drugs

Banning guns in America would only effect the law abiding citizens who own guns. Do you think that gang members are actually buying guns legally? No. They get them on the street.

The "gangstas" that are killing people with guns aren't caring them legally... note the arrest charge of ILLEGAL possession of a firearm. And it's not the guns its the people... Other countries have guns like America but there citizens don't just randomly kill people. It all goes back to the morals of our citizens. We have video games where you can rape a woman and then go kill a cop? This is ridiculous!

It's funny that I ran across this question cause I thought almost the exact same thing you said. The thought first came in my head while watching Mccain speak to the N.R.A, I thought ban them from the cities and to rent them to hunters, but the reality is, no matter what people will get guns which means people will need guns to protect themselves from everyone else with guns. I hate guns someone can spend their whole life training to become stronger and more phisically fit then other people just incase they need to defend theirselves, and lil gangsta over there who sits around doing drugs can gun them down without even looking them in the eye. Wish things would change but doesn't look like it.
