i applied for a dispatcher position in a local town. i received a ltter saying that my application was accepted and they want me to come in to take the test.
what is the content of this test?
what else should i know about this job?

In addition to the items mentioned above....
It is a really good idea to know the geography of the area. Like which way is North , South, East , West ? Highway numbers, airport locations and train stations.
Locations of hospitals, fire stations, public schools and parks.
How are the streets numbered..... In some towns there are no street numbers on some back streets.

Some agencies use a test that they make up so there is no telling what could be on it. Some agencies use programs such as Critacall which basically tests common sense and also multi-tasking. The best thing I can advise it to learn your local 10 codes and the phonetic alphabet they use. Practice multitasking such as talk on the phone with someone in normal conversation and have someone at your house start rambling out addresses and things (acting like radio traffic) at you to make sure you can do many things at once.
