They would take you home and tell your parents to put you over their knee and smack you bum. Now its all about targets and figures and clear up rates common sense no longer are part of the equation, the first thing kids learn about are their rights. |

There is no s Statute of limitation for criminal activities in UK.
It follows that if evidence is produced sufficient for a prosecution in the opinion of the CPS the perpetrator will be prosecuted. The penalties of to-day will apply |

It depends on the crime. Some crimes that are committed have a time limit on whether they can be prosecuted or not and some don't. |

As previously mentioned most crimes have a statute of limitations, which means someone presumed guilty of a crime can't be tried after the required number of years have come and gone. However, if the crime is considered serious enough, and the statute to arrest and convict has passed, prosecutors can and may extend the statute by starting the prosecution process from the date of knowledge. This means the clock on the statute of limitations doesn't start ticking until someone in law enforcement becomes aware that a crime has been committed. This is discretionary on the part of the prosecution, and very often potential cases are not pursued in the interest of justice because so much time has passed. However, this rationale does not apply to murder and a few other major crimes; prosecution will be pursued no matter how much time has passed. |

unless it was murder, nothing. even rape has a statue of limitations, meaning you cannot be charged after so long. murder is the only crime with no limitation on charges. |

The law that would be enforced is likely to be the statute of limitations. |
