What motivates people to fight?
The only motivation I would have would be in self defence.
I find the only people who want to start fights are bullies and cowards fueled with drink, with weapons or not.

violence is for idiots. stupid lowdown ignorant pieces of dung who cant think their way into civility. they haven't the capacity to rise above it for whatever the reason. people who fight with or without weapons would grant society a favor by not having kids and puttin a knife or bullet in their own mellon.

silly little whelks that see guns as POWER....RESPECT....ha ha yea it is really pathetic.....but when you have the brain of a portion of boiled haddock, and the prospects of a sad little loser with out a gun then....well i suppose its understandable. i would frankly! rather be on my! end of their guns than their! end......can you imagine being that! worth less as a human being? makes you shudder at the thought. what have they got in front of them.....another baby p as their ultimate life's achievement? that's what it comes down to in the end......i personally think that for the good of mankind they should be culled.

well i seriously doubt u going up to them and calling them cowards, look 80% of the time it's just with them incase if the other guy has something on him, or he brings more people to the fight so then he'll be out numbered.

this is really how some people got to live in some neighborhoods & that's something you wouldn't understand

Any martial arts instructor will tell you that you use their opponents strength against them.

In a case of gun vs. martial arts, martial arts has an unexpected advantage, the gun yes can kill, but it does one thing - shoot. Any one that does martial arts has the advantage of moving, kicking, hitting, throwing, if you can kick that gun out of the way, the person using the gun has no defence themselves and will lose the fight.

A coward uses a gun and/or knife because they know in a real fight they would lose.

A weaponless fight involves skill, tactics and intelligence, anybody can shoot a gun.

Most people with a gun, don't shoot in defence, they shoot first to stop themselves being shot, that's not defence.

I do karate, and until someone lays a finger on me I won't touch them. I warn them that they probably don't want to fight, but I won't touch them unless they touch me first. It's self-defence and in a court of law is accepted as self-defence.

Shooting someone just because they might shoot you is not self-defence, it's stupidity, you don't know they are definitely going to shoot you, you know they might, you don't know whether they are shooting blanks or not, there are so many possibilities with a gun, they're honestly not worth it.

People that use a gun need some lessons in self-defence, only then will they see you don't need a weapon to win a fight and you don't have to kill to win a fight. Your objective should always be to get away from the aggressor whilst causing the least amount of harm possible. I'll gladly break someone's arm if they're attacking me if there is no other way to remove them from me, if there is a different less violent way to get rid of them, that's the way to go.

You don't get that option with weapons, you get shoot or don't shoot, stab or don't stab, there is no in between.

Survival... if it's a life or death fight I assume. Then again those who initiate the fight by pulling one of those out could probably fall into the coward category.

when you look at people thats in jail for violent crime the vast majority would have been under the influence of drink/drugs at the time

It's not that they would lose without weapons. It's that you have a sure advantage with weapons, and you may not have to fight if your opponent does not want to get involved with knives and guns.
