What % of murderers in the US get away with it?

I've realized that they never do say what percentage of people get away with murder, and I'm thinking it might be because a large number do, and so news sources can't talk about it (just like they can't cover suicide, because then people will do it to get attention). Does anyone know what percentage of people get away with murder in the US?

both have excellent stats.
They are by state. Look for the clearance rate. it is expressed in percentage.
The UCR for homicide is 0110.

When I was a homicide detective my cities total clearance rate was usually 70 to 75%. That was when we had few stranger danger and gang shooting in my area. As the gangs got more violent and because of politics they stopped hiring detectives the solve rate has gone down to 45-55%.
