with great character references. not being a dangerous person and definately no chance of offending again. Additional Details unfortunatly 5 attackers targeted my home. the attacked me and my hubby and tried to throw him over our balcony. I had no choice but to try and stop the attckers, unless i was to watch my husband die!! i'm a brave person for defending my home and family. but i am NOT a criminal!!

If you have the money or Legal Aid then plead not guilty.
If not plead guilty and you will get a small fine and maybe a conditional discharge. Of course this depends on what actually happened. |

My friend, you really must get a lawyer and listen to his/her advice. You know, probably, that in the Crown Court this can get you up to 5 years or an unlimited fine, in the Magistrates Court up to 6 months or a hefty fine, the amount of which I cannot remember at the moment. What will happen in your case we cannot tell.
We aren't hearing the evidence so we cannot make a judgement, nor, as already said, should you be discussing this on here.
Please ask your lawyer. |

Please get a solicitor before deciding to enter any plea. There are few fixed penalties for public order offences. The penalties range from cautions to fines to sentences. Get a lawyer and get one fast, Don't try to defend yourself in court. It is like being thrown in with the lions. You will be torn to pieces. |

your question does not identify in which state or country you live. I can tell you that in KS, it is a defense to a charge of battery, agg battery or more serious felony if you use force to defend your life or the life of another.
In the case of home invasion, it a fine line. Having the perfect sense of hindsight, the court cases have developed to basically state that if you can escape, then you are not permitted to use force. However if you cannot escape, then you may use force. Keep in mind I said it was a defense, it is not a right.
I would speak with an attorney as soon as possible. If you have been appointed counsel by the court, those lawyer are very skilled, but over worked. I would advise you seek private counsel. This sounds like something that needs to be tried to a jury of your peers.
Good luck |

Why are you pleading guilty when you have, from what you say, a defence to the charge, namely self defence? Or was it a case of taking a kitchen knife to them? I hope you've taken proper legal advice on this. At worst, from what you say, a suspended sentence. |

it sounds like self defence and I don't think you will get charged with anything but if they charge you I think the worst thing will be assault and most people get a large fine for this - (the Saturday night pub people drunk starting a fight) |

malicous wounding with intent is the crime you can expect a custodial sentence at the very least and I would imagine without knowing the facts a sentence of three to five years would not be out of order. this is your second question on this subject the jury did not obviously believe you when you went to court so your first post was also a pack of lies also.
as the saying goes "if you cant do the time dont commit the crime" I personally have no sympathy with you at all.
being very sorry is no defence you stabbed somebody end of story. In your other post you said you poked somebody in the bum. and neglected to say it was with a ******* big knife |
