a colleague of mine forged company cheques totaling around £25k, she has left now and we only find out after our yearly audit...we have reported it to the police, what is likely to happen to her..and if convicted what kind of sentence is she likely to get

She could and probably will [if the evidence stacks up] be charged with Theft-Breach of trust.At £25K this is likely to be sent to Crown Court where the maximum sentence on indictment is 7 years although a first time offender pleading guilty will be punished with a much lesser sentence but custody is inevitable. |
