All police academies are tough, especially the physical and weapons qualification standards, academics are far from a slouch, but I found that easier then the physical and weapons challenges. There is no such thing as a routine shift, when it becomes routine to you, time to move onto something that will not get you killed! You learn about how to be a police officer in the academy, you learn how to be a police officer when you hit the streets, be a sponge, learn everything thing possible, conduct traffics stops everyday, volunteer for every call you have never handled, especially domestics, they are all different, and practice on your officer safety everyday, it will keep you alive and your partner!!!! |
