187 is the California Penal Code number for Homicide. it is not the same number in other states. It is used by some gangs but usually with the opposing gangs sign painted on upside down or covering an opposing gangs graffiti.
Lately it is being used by kid taggers to make themselves feel big. They see it on TV and in the movies.
Don't know in your city but mine removes graffiti from brick for free or supplies paint to the owner to paint over. We have found that removing the stuff quickly helps keep it down.
Either go to a station or call the non emergency number to make a report. It is a criminal damage to property. If you do not report it the computers don't know about it and your area does not get assigned enough police. |
