What should we do with persistant thieves?

We need the correct facilities to handle persistent offenders, lets make room by first removing TVs, sky and internal toilets from cells, put two more bunk beds in each cell.
Whilst Prison is seen as a holiday it will never be a deterrent.
Bring back capital punishment for, Murder, Rapist's, paedophiles, con men, drugs dealers, people who kill in in RTA whilst drunk or under drugs. Actually after that clear out we might not need the extra beds.

If you don't have a job for more than 6 months you should be made to carry out some form of community payback, this would be menial satisfying labour.

Stop playing PC games, my son is always being stopped by the police, they have admitted that this is the keep the numbers up, the more white kids we stop the more black one we can stop.

The police should be issued with more non lethal methods to stop people, and be more at liberty to use them.

Just mush em up and tin them as pet food...

You might think that it sounds harsh but.... i do believe that the pets will get used to the taste

In some countries their hands would be chopped off. This might not be a bad idea

steven e
sever their digits.

jenkin1950
Cut their hands off. We look at other countries' ways of dealing with this problem, and we include Iraq, etc and we think their treatment is medieval - why?

blaster
Do the same as what they do in the middle east...cut their hands off.

Take their freedom away. take back what is not theirs to have.
Show them the punishment that fits the crime.
cut off their hands so they can't take anything no more.

Although it's barbaric I agree with those who say chop their hands off. This may act as a deterrent to others.

Well in Iran the other week they were cutting off their left feet and their right hand of about a dozen thieves so I take it they will not be re offending!

Having worked in Saudi Arabia their system of deterent seems to have amazing results.
1st offence right hand off
2nd offence left hand off
Saw some one handed people but none without any.

Not much you can do besides getting in the latest in security systems...

Make sure you notify the police and request more patrols go through the area.

Or maybe move?

Chop their hands off....Only joking maybe making them do some sort of community service at the place they stole from or make them actually pay for the goods out of their pocket even if the goods were recovered. I think any petty criminals should be made to pay for the real expense involved, i.e. the police`s time etc...

Just me
steal from them.

dot&carryone.
Dress them up in Police uniforms.
