Alright my parents are going out of town, and I'm going to be having a party. I'm 19 and their are going to be like 25 people over at this party. Their is going to be a ton of alcohol lol. My question is what should I do if like a neighbor calls the cops? Do I have to let the cop in my house? What should I do if this situation occurs?

Maybe you could speak to your neighbours beforehand. Be polite and honest. That might make them less inclined to call the police in the first place. |

I believe that even if you don't allow them to come in, as long as they have a suspicion that there is underage drinking, they may enter. |

all they need is probable cause to enter.. if there is a lot of cars or even loud noise that is all they need . |

Citicop is right. Don't listen to the people who tell you not to let them in. You don't have a choice. Keep the music down and act like you have some sense, no fights or crap and you should be fine. |

Yes we can legally enter your home if we think a crime is going on. In NY you can be arrested for being in charge of the premise while this is going on. If someone drives away from there drunk and gets in an accident they can sue the homeowners,your parents, and hold them financially liable. Pretty nice if your party were to get you locked up, and your parents' sued. Be really great if the damages were so great they were bankrupted. |

You're busted! What's the address and I'll call. No, you don't have to let them into your house; they just break down the door and I'd love to see the looks on your parent's faces when they see that and the rest of the house. Your parents are going to be sooo proud when they see that they can't trust you to go away without you letting all your little friends in to get drunk and destroy the house. Ohhhh....and you do know that if any of your little drunken friends gets hurt on the way home, you--being the "adult" of age (y'know, on paper) will be held accountable, right, and if you've got nothing--obviously--they can then sue your parents? Maybe they should just kick you out and make you grow up. |
