What to do about police brutality?

just saw this video and was wondering what can we do, or how should this situation be handled. It is our right not to be searched, but it appears those rights are optional when it comes to the police.

yes sadly if he didn't answer the questions and let the police search his car. Even though it is his right not to be searched. And he was more than willing to help out if they showed probable cause as the dog was somehow MIA.

Also, the "right to not be searched" is the 4th amendment which states that you cannot be searched without a warrent or probable cause. The dog who "sniffed" the "drugs or a body" was not around to show off that it found something.

If the Officers had probable cause to search the car then he does not have the option to decline a search of his car. See Carroll v United State:

The guy refused to let the Officer search so he can be arrested for Obstruction. If he won't get out of the car he is resisting them and can be extracted from the car. The Officers used a distraction technique by distracting him with one hammer and actually knocking out both windows. It is dangerous to extract people from a car because you do not know what kind of weapons they have in the car.

The moral to the story is that if you feel like you are being unjustly treated by a Law Officer then it is not wise to resist. Comply and then fight things in court and deal with it in court. The Officers operated within their authority. The guy is a fool, if he had nothing in his car he should have been happy to let them look in the trunk and then gave them heck when they found nothing.

Law Officers aren't playing games out here on the road. We run across serious bad guys and have no way of knowing what kind of intent people have when we deal with them.

No he should have let them search because they had the authority to search. Just because the search did not turn up anything does not mean there was nothing there before. I have seen a dog hit on vehicles before and nothing was found, however, it was obvious drugs were in the car (i.e. the car smelled like weed, there was shake on the floorboard, the owner admitted to drug use, etc.). Just because nothing was turned up does not mean the Officers did not have a right to search. Oh, and Police can use force when people refuse to comply with lawful orders (i.e. to get out of a vehicle). It is written into law and reinforced by case law. If you want to rant, you should know something about the topic you are ranting about.

Sorry it is not your to be search. Police can search you if he believes you were in a crime, carry drugs or whatever. But when you say " It is our right not to be searched" where does that come from. However police should not be going so drastic as to police brutality. It has happened to often. Even with the police so called internal affairs, police discipline board the common citizen still isn't being protected by the very people these police officers work for. THE PEOPLE......
They don't respect their jobs or their so called powere went straight to the brain. The old saying comes to Absolute Power corrupts absolutely. Another thing police take care of their own.

Where do you get the "we have the right to not be searched" baloney? That's is absolutely false. Do you idiots who do all this complaining ever actually research your stupid statements before you make them? Apparently not.
