i got a ticket for public urination. i got a ticket and now i have to go see a judge on the 26th of this month. im wondering if im just going to pay a fine or if i have to do time. the ticket said it was a misdemeanor. whats goin to happen?

First, do you have any priors? The first thing that a proecutor looks at when deciding how to handle a case is if there is any history of similar conduct. This comes into play not only at a bail hearing, but during trial as well.
Second, depending on the facts of the situation, there may be something there that the prosecutor will cite. Was anybody around? Was anybody underage anywhere nearby?
These are what the court calls factors in aggravation.
Third, if you arent already represented by counsel, consider getting a PD to represent you if you cant afford counsel.
Procedurally, a misdemeanor can be very quick and painless, it depends not only on the judge, but also on the prosecutor. They should give you some idea of what their intention is prior to the hearing. |

You'll receive a small fine and have a record. No jail time. You can probably get it wiped from your record if you don't do or get caught doing any crimes within a year. |

get an attorney. you do not want to get a record and have this show up when backgrounds are done for future employment checks. |

If you were a member of the Bush Administration you wouldn't have to worry about such things, but I would say you will probably recieve a fine. I don't think you would do time, of course, unless you urinated in front of a child or something like that. |

lol no idea, but just 1hr and 12min ago, i got pulled over for speeding, 41mph in a 25 zone lol i was freakin out, im 17 and in illinois thats adult, im gonna plead guilty so i dont have to go to court.....can you do that? i mean i know I CAN he gave me an option, but can u do the same? |
