What will happen to you if cops catch you while your high?

If your walking around outside while your high and cops stop you and they figure out that your high, can they do anything to you?
I know if you have it on you then they can, but can they do anything if you don't have any?

You can be arrested for Public Intoxication. Contrary to what CJ wrote, there is no breath test for P.I. that is only if the person is driving.

First person is right, public intoxication. Its not a big deal, I've been arrested for it before (but for drinking, they refused to give me a breathalyzer so I had the charges dropped). They will put you in a holding cell for about 8 hours, then release you. Most cops wont do that though. Then you go to court for it. Once you go to court you will get the charges dropped because they cant prove anything. There is a test to tell if you recently smoked, but regular cops dont have that kind of technology on hand unless its the DEA.

A cop can arrest you for ANYTHING. All they have to do is say that you were a danger to the public or a risk to public safety. Be safe and get high/drunk indoors.
