You cheat if your writing a drama do your own research and stop leaching from other people.
why not check court records or as its a drama make up the Judges summoning up your self or is that too hard for you?

An "insane" woman would not be convicted of murder. However i will go with your scenario. A judge might say; You have been convicted of the most brutal attack upon an innocent woman, for nothing more than to satisfy your vengeance. You are clearly a danger to society a person capable, as has been proven in this court, of the most violent of acts. it is incumbent upon me to safeguard society from a ruthless killer such as you. The jury have found you guilty i have only one penalty under the law for murder.You will go to prison for LIFE with a recommendation you serve a minimum of 20 years. Take her down !! (British law > the only sentence for murder is LIFE IN PRISON)
