Scotland is considering raising the age of criminal responsibility to 12 from 8. If caught on the rob aged 8 to 16 in Scotland the matter would be reported to the Reporter to the Children's Panel. There is no criminal court for juveniles in Scotland. A child who commits a deed, theft, is treated by the same system as a child who is displaying a need, ie neglect etc.

You would be arrested, the legal age of criminal responsibility in England & Wales is 10 years old under Section 34 of The Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
